Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance

Each year at Amelia Island brings an all new collection of unbelievable experiences, each more thrilling and whimsical than the last. That means every year I come here, it's guaranteed to be the best vacation I've ever taken. This year featured slightly thinner crowds, slightly fewer cars, and a small change in festivities that called for a little improvisation on my part. However, none of those factors interrupted the unfettered elation of this phenomenal weekend.
I noticed that I didn't photograph nearly as many cars as I have before. I guess in my first couple of years, I was so caught up in wanting to capture *everything,* but now that I've found my groove, I spent a lot more time scoping out specific vehicles to capture in more detail, meeting people and spending time with my friends who attended, and just soaking in the atmosphere of one of my favorite places ever.
Adding to all of this, the opportunity to drive a car out and present it at an event like this was something of a bucket list item for me. The 968 performed flawlessly, transporting us in comfort and style at extra-legal speeds, all while returning 31 mpg. I was certainly relishing in all of the attention and adoration the 968 received at Werks Reunion, Cars & Coffee, and everywhere in between. Amelia Island really is the perfect place to bring all manner of enthusiasts together to indulge this unique passion we all share.
With each year's excellence growing with such great momentum, I can only imagine how next year will top this one, but I've got some ideas.
