The Amelia - 2023
My fifth year at Amelia Island was marked by camaraderie, confidence, and a comfort level that emboldened me and my friends to indulge in ways we haven't quite done before. Also, champagne. So much free champagne.
Over the years, I've connected with an immensely talented group of people; we share ideas, experiences, opportunities, and information, all of which serves to ensure that we're collectively getting the most out of our annual getaway.
Party crashing at The Hangar on Saturday evening is one highlight that sums up our reckless spontaneity and rogue sense of adventure on the Island. From peeking over the fence and climbing trees to get a glimpse, to charming our way through the doors, few things reinforce how lucky we are to be able to pull off and share such moments like this.
In my fifth year at Amelia, each of these sights is every bit as exciting as it is for first-timers. Attending with friends adds so many layers to the occasion, as everyone has a different experience, even when the group manages to stick together. It's nigh-on impossible to take it all in, but when you're among the regulars who know exactly where to look, and the first-timers who revitalize and amplify our excitement for what we're surrounded by, the collective experience is truly something special.
